Great opportunity for experienced IT Project Manager to coordinate and deliver a key project with Toowoomba Local Government. 6 Month contract
Our client, a Local Government organisation based in Toowoomba, services a regional population of 167,657 and employs a team of more than 1700 staff. A vacancy currently exists in the Finance and Business Strategy Group for a Project Manager – Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for a six (6) month contract, with possible extension, to commence as soon as possible.
This contract will not suit candidates seeking remote employment.
Reporting directly to the Principal, Technology Services, the Project Manager – ICT will play a key role in leading and managing the successful delivery of a project aimed at transitioning field staff from paper to electronic timesheets (approximately 500 staff members).
Working under limited direction, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Leading and managing a team of four to successfully execute project deliverables.
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to streamline workflows, optimize resource utilization, and enhance overall project performance while minimizing costs and redundancies.
- Developing and managing and manage detailed project schedules and coordinating staff availability.
- Overseeing the effective allocation, maintenance, and tracking of project assets and equipment.
- Leveraging and promoting the use of digital tools and technologies to enhance project management processes.
Applicants for the role, should possess the following qualification and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or other formal qualification (such as a Diploma) in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology or related field from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Extensive experience in the successful delivery of organisational-wide ICT-based projects where collaboration was critical to the outcome.
- High degree of understanding the phases and systems required to deliver significant business improvement projects and organisational change management practices, following industry accepted frameworks such as PMBOK.
